About me
Hello, hi...
I'm Sarah, a journalist based in The North, mostly writing about health and social affairs.
Over the last decade, I have worked in local newsrooms and on specialist healthcare titles, but most people probably know me from my reporting on medical cannabis policy. I’m one of the few UK journalists specialising in this and used to edit Cannabis Health, a magazine focused on driving education and awareness following the 2018 law change. I continue to report on policy developments, science and research and the injustices facing patients in the UK for Forbes, Cannabis Health and Business of Cannabis.
Honestly, I didn’t expect to take the leap into freelance life as soon in my career as I did, but if I hadn’t I wouldn't have had the opportunity to write for the likes of The i Paper, Byline Times, The Lead, Positive News, Leafie & others over the last 12 months. Alongside this, I edit a publication called Femtech World, reporting on the latest tech and innovation in women's health, a topic which is very important to me.
What else is there to know? I have a chronic, invisible illness, which informs a lot of how I approach a lot of my work and is probably in some way why so much of what I do is related to health and health inequalities. Sometimes I'm not working and then I'm often outdoors, most likely walking the dog, running or wild swimming.
I'm always open to a chat about how we could work together, say hi at: sarahlouisesinclair@gmail.com
